At home
The idea that with pooled money, volunteers could rent shared a deraa in Kathmandu, was popular. Instead of staying in a hotel and dragging clothes back and forth, you sort of had a place of your own. I was part of the ‘Spice’ deraa. Peace Corps forced volunteers to close these at the end of 2003 for security reasons.
